IPRA Web Site Privacy Statement

June 1, 2007

Your privacy is important to us! Thank you for visiting the IPRA 2008 Public Relations World Congress web site and reviewing our privacy policy.

Our policy is simple: We collect no personal information about you unless you choose to provide that information to us. We do not give, share, sell, or transfer any personal information to a third party.

Some of our web pages (such as online forms, conference registration forms, requests for information) let you voluntarily submit personal information.

Annual Conference Registration: This IPRA site collects your name, contact information, and pertinent World Congress registration information when you register through this site. All information collected for this purpose, including name and contact information, is used to register participants for the World Congress. The information may be used to verify membership, confirm registration, schedule events, prepare a name badge, and create the World Congress attendee list*.

(*Please note: The World Congress attendee list may be disseminated to all World Congress Attendees. It also will be released to World Congress sponsors. Also, IPRA will provide this information to our World Congress co-host, the China International Public Relations Association, which is organizing the conference venue in Beijing.)

Requests for Information: IPRA uses a contact form for visitors to request information or to be contacted with news and updated information about the World Congress. When provided, we collect visitor names, phone numbers, and email addresses. The visitor's contact information is used to contact the visitor only as requested.

Information from E-mail You Send to Us: If you decide to send us an electronic mail message (e-mail)*, the message will usually contain your return e-mail address. If you include personally-identifying information in your e-mail because you want us to address issues specific to your situation, we may use that information in responding to your request.

(*Please note: E-mail is not necessarily secure against interception. Please send only information necessary to help us process your request.)

Information Collected from Interactive Forms: On some of our web site pages we offer interactive forms that let you voluntarily submit personal information (such as your e-mail address, name, or organization). This occurs when you are registering for the World Congress. In those cases, all submitted information is used only for the expressed purposes for which it is intended and is not made available to any third party.

Electronic Mailing Lists: This site collects your e-mail address when you subscribe to receive IPRA World Congress on-line e-mail updates. Your e-mail address is accessible to the list administrator at the IPRA office for purposes of maintaining an up-to-date distribution list. This information is not shared with any third parties and does not include any other personally identifiable information.

Links to Other Web Site: Our policy discloses the privacy practices for the IPRA World Congress web site. However, IPRA provides links to other web sites. When you leave the IPRA World Congress web site (www.ipraworldcongress.org), you will be going to sites that are beyond our control. We try to ensure that links that leave our site are clearly labeled. These other sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit personal information. The privacy policies and procedures described here for IPRA do not apply to any external links. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any site you link to from ours, especially if you share any personal information.

Be informed. You are the person best qualified to protect your own privacy.
